EMU M-Center: one device from the meter to the platform
In district cooling, residential towers and large commercial buildings across the Gulf region, the M-Center has proved to be the right device for our clients. It reads Helvatron meters, stores the data and sends it on: to the BMS via BACnet IP or Modbus TCP, or via MQTT, also over its built-in SIM. We read more than 300,000 meters this way.
Our experience in the Gulf
Five reasons why we recommend the M-Center
- Meter and logThe M-Center reads Helvatron H2O and DELTA III meters via M-Bus, up to 250 of them, and keeps the readings in its built-in data logger.
- MQTT, ready for the futureReadings go out via MQTT, the open standard of IoT platforms. For clients in the Gulf region, Helvatron provides the MQTT broker as a SaaS solution. We read more than 300,000 meters this way, for leading developers, district-cooling operators and billing service providers.
- Built-in SIMWith its LTE modem and built-in SIM, the M-Center sends data even where there is no site network. The largest district-cooling company in the UAE uses it, as do leading BMS and energy-efficiency companies and billing service providers.
- M-Bus and ModbusM-Bus for the meters, two RS-485 ports for up to 64 Modbus devices, Modbus TCP devices via the network, and data to the BMS via BACnet IP or Modbus TCP, or via MQTT: one device for every building automation project.
- Green building projectsThe M-Center is in use in projects under LEED, Estidama (Abu Dhabi) and Mostadam (Saudi Arabia), which call for metered energy and water data.
Service by Helvatron
MQTT broker as a service
For clients in the Gulf region, Helvatron provides the MQTT broker as a SaaS solution. The M-Center publishes the readings, and the broker passes them on to billing, analytics or the client’s own platform. You need no server of your own.
Proven in the Gulf region
More than 300,000 meters
We read more than 300,000 meters in Dubai via the M-Center and MQTT, for leading developers, district-cooling operators and billing service providers. The largest district-cooling company in the UAE uses the M-Center, as do leading BMS and energy-efficiency companies.
Where it fits
Typical projects
District cooling
DELTA III cooling meters in every building or unit, read via M-Bus and sent to billing via MQTT, with the built-in SIM where there is no site network.
Residential and mixed-use towers
H2O water meters and DELTA III cooling meters per apartment on one M-Bus, read by the M-Center in the plant room.
BMS and energy efficiency
We send the meter data to the BMS via BACnet IP or Modbus TCP, or via MQTT. Further Modbus devices are read via RS-485 or Modbus TCP.
Green building
In use in projects under LEED, Estidama (Abu Dhabi) and Mostadam (Saudi Arabia), which call for metered energy and water data.
Billing service providers
Billing service providers receive the readings via MQTT and use them directly for consumption billing.
