Metering technology from Baar

The name Helvatron derives from ‘Helvetia’, and our products are still made in Switzerland today. Since it was founded, Helvatron has developed and manufactured meters for monitoring and billing, along with solutions for data acquisition and energy management.

Helvatron is part of the Helventure Group, which is deliberately committed to Switzerland as a location for work and innovation. Its sister company EMU Electronic AG is based on the same site.

Development and production

From engineering to the finished meter

Development

Our own development team in Baar designs the measurement technology, electronics, firmware and interfaces.

Manufacturing

Assembly on our own production lines. A line for around 150,000 meters per year was added in 2020, and a new one for around 350,000 in 2026.

Testing

Metrological testing in the accredited test field at the Baar site.

Quality assurance

Production of the H2O and DELTA III is certified to MID module D, audited by METAS-Cert.

Logistics

Dispatch from Switzerland and via our warehouses in Gotha, Sarajevo and Dubai.

Test laboratory

Our own test laboratory

Alongside the accredited test field for metrological testing, Helvatron runs its own laboratory in Baar. There we test how meters and electronics behave under real operating conditions.

UV exposure

Resistance of the housing, display and plastics to UV radiation.

Temperature and humidity

Tests under changing temperatures and high humidity.

IP68 protection

Water-tightness testing for meters that may be permanently submerged, for example in a meter pit.

Temperature sensor matching

Matching and testing of temperature sensors for heat and cooling meters.

EMC

Electromagnetic compatibility testing of electronics and interfaces.

Radio systems

Testing of radio communication, for example wireless M-Bus, LoRa and NB-IoT.

We work with distributors and trained system integrators, and offer them training with hands-on exercises, for example on M-Bus basics, bus topologies, data loggers and software.
